For 15 years 'Eco Designer of the first hour', David Trubridge, has continued to produce lights from his atelier in his home town that combine his vast knowledge as a wood craftsman with his equally impressive expertise in Computer modeling and CAD design.
For his latest offering he has revisited some of his old designs and succeeded in responding to two challenges: he has removed their plastic components as part of a process towards a plastic-less future; and he has permitted them to be transported in kit-set format at 1/5 their final size to reduce the impact of their transport.
The resulting collection is Scandinavian in look. Aesthetic geometrical forms that let warm light filter through transparent fine birch plywood, and more directly through the fine lines between each blade of wood. These lines are designed to mimic the patterns on water from the maritime universe that their names Ebb, Swell, Bounce, Roll and Drop have also come from.
